One of the most unique combinations of artistic touch and technical skill, microblading is the creation of individual hair strokes using a tattoo technique and a fine microblade. These hand drawn hairs, drawn within a carefully planned brow shape, do not use a traditional tattoo machine, and are meticulously placed and match your hair color and texture. The result is naturally gorgeous-looking eyebrows.

Microblading is perfect for people who have irregular or thinning brows from overplucking, or genetics. This form of semi-permanent makeup is ideal for those who want defined, well-shaped eyebrows.
Microblading first began in Asia three decades ago and has been described by a variety of names: micro stroking, feather touch, embroidery and the “Japanese Method.” In the United States microblading became popular in approximately 2015.
Microblading is done manually by applying semi-permanent makeup to reconstruct, define shape, and add fullness to the eyebrows. The microblading process involves adding pigments into the upper layers of the skin to appear as individual strokes that look like real hair. Shading is also available to give clients that filled-in powdered eyebrow makeup look. Tam Ho is a certified microblade artist with Phibrows and Fuzion Artistry with may years of experience.
Microblading usually requires two appointments about 30 days apart. In the first appointment, the initial shaping is drawn on so the patient and the artist can mutually agree on the desired *look*. The artist then microblades that look, and the patient is ready to begin enjoying their beautiful brows. There will typically be some mild scabbing during the few weeks following treatment, and patients are encouraged to closely follow the post procedure care plan.
You should be fully healed within 30 days, in time for your “touch up” second appointment. The 30 days allows enough time for the some of the ink color in the outer-most layer of skin (epidermis) to naturally slough off and have the shape and color settle into your skin. Sometimes the patient’s skin undertones require the color to be adjusted, because a patient’s skin will “take up” the ink slightly differently, from person to person. The artistic touch up will assure your look is gorgeous, natural and long lasting.

Eyebrows created by microblading typically last between 1-2 years, depending on skin types and skincare routines. Touch ups are recommended to keep natural-looking, gorgeous brows.
You can wear your new brows proudly that very day. For the next week however, avoid working out and getting your brows wet or wearing brow makeup. Click here for detailed after care instructions.
Because the area has a topical anesthetic (numbing) applied prior to the procedure, most people experience little or no pain.
Microblading appointments take between 2-3 hours, with most of the time spent defining the exact eyebrow shape and color. The actual microblading part is typically 30 minutes to one hour.
The most helpful thing to do before your appointment is to do some research and develop a sense for the eyebrow SHAPE you feel will fit YOU. There are many styles and shapes to choose such as degree of arch, amount of feathering, boldness of brown. Tam, our microblading artist will guide you through the final choices and help customize your best brows. During the week prior to your appointment please avoid blood thinners like alcohol, aspirin and ibuprofen/Aleve, fish oil and Vitamin E. Acetaminophen is fine to take for head or body aches as it is not a blood thinner. Also discontinue retinol products near your brows. On the day prior to your procedure, avoid caffeine and energy drinks to help you relax your facial muscles more easily during your procedure.
The price varies by the artist, between $700 and $900 based on experienced artists in most metropolitan areas in the United States.

Please wash hands with antibacterial soap before you wash your eyebrows. Then wash your eyebrows EVERY HOUR very well with a gentle cleanser and lukewarm water! Pat dry with a tissue than apply a very thin layer of the Aquaphor.
Keep eyebrows lightly glossed with the Aquaphor for three to four times a day for the next seven (7) days. Do not over use ointment. It should last you for 7 days, only apply very thin layer. Do not suffocate your eyebrows.
To avoid loss of pigment, FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS!
The brows are approximately 20 to 25% darker and bolder in the width than they will be when healed. Your skin is red under the pigment which causes the color of the pigment to appear darker. There is some swelling, although difficult to actually see due to the thickness of the skin in the eyebrow area. This will subside. Exfoliation, which begins in a few days, will cause the excess pigment surrounding the eyebrow procedure to flake away and a narrower appearance of your eyebrows. Don’t be concerned that your eyebrows initially appear darker and heavier in size then you desire. This is all part of the process.
