Super Specialized Laser Eyelid Lift Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

How Does Blepharoplasty Work?
Upper and Lower Blepharoplasty are two separate eyelid surgical procedures that, when done together, can help turn back the hands of time against visible facial aging. The upper blepharoplasty addresses drooping upper eyelids caused by excess skin and protruding fat. The lower blepharoplasty repairs lower eyelid bagging from three asymmetrically bulging fat pads, and lower lid skin wrinkling caused by age-related increases in skin laxity. Unfortunately, this is a process associated with aging that everyone eventually faces.

If your vision is sufficiently blocked to qualify, and your insurance covers upper lids, patients gain a financial and recovery advantage when they elect to add the cosmetic lower blepharoplasty to their upper lid surgery. We encourage patients to seriously consider their lower lid condition prior to their consultation. Dr. Yeilding has unique skills and experience to offer patients this specialized cosmetic procedure which is notoriously difficult for non-specialized physicians to achieve natural results. People will have this type of surgery just once in their lives. Our happiest patients have had both their upper and lower lids treated together. They report feeling the immediate benefit of increased confidence and engagement when interacting with family, friends, co-workers, bosses and customers.

What To Expect
Fortunately for our patients, instead of using a scalpel Dr. Yeilding has perfected a unique surgical approach using a precise laser beam to make incisions for eyelid lifts. Dr. Yeilding’s laser incisions are clean and extremely precise, outperforming scalpel-based procedures for highly favorable healing and almost imperceptible scars. Another unique attribute of her lower lid lift technique is that she uses a highly customized laser resurfacing technique to tighten and rejuvenate lower eyelid skin. About half of our patients referred from Central Florida area doctors for drooping upper lids, find that their upper lid surgery is covered by insurance because they meet the criteria for “excess skin blocking vision”. Regardless of your situation, all of Dr. Yeilding’s patients who have received both upper and lower eyelid surgery represent our happiest patients because they have a more complete treatment, achieving a more natural, balanced, and harmonious look.
Does Insurance Cover Eyelid Surgery?
For those patients whose upper eyelids are sufficiently droopy to begin blocking your vision, insurance may cover the upper blepharoplasty procedure. The medically necessary elements of the examination, including photography and visual fields testing, are done at YMD Facial Plastic Surgery and are billed through your insurance carrier. Insurance may cover upper eyelid blepharoplasty in the case when your upper eyelids are sufficiently droopy due to excess skin. In order to qualify for insurance coverage for blepharoplasty, several criteria must be met. Also, your specific insurance plan must not exclude blepharoplasty. Certain employers obtain better insurance premium rates for their employees by excluding certain medical procedures such as blepharoplasty. Patients are responsible for learning about what their insurance covers. Most importantly, the amount of Deductible you have, and the amount of the Co-Insurance will predominately determine what you will have to pay out of pocket.
