Dr. Ruth Hill Yeilding is the medical director and founder of YMD Eye & Face located in Winter Park, Florida. Board Certified by The American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery and The American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Yeilding had intense fellowship training in oculoplastics and facial cosmetic surgery. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Washington & Lee University magna cum laude and received her Medical Doctorate from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, which was also conferred magna cum laude. During her undergraduate studies she was inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society, and in medical school was elected to join the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. After completing an internship in Internal Medicine and General Surgery at the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Yeilding went on to an ophthalmology residency at Vanderbilt University. She conducted advanced research in oculoplastics while at Vanderbilt, which is widely considered to be a premier center for aesthetic plastic surgery. Dr. Yeilding was extremely fortunate to be accepted into and to have completed a surgically intensive fellowship program with the highly regarded cosmetic facial surgeon John P. Fezza, M.D. at the Center for Sight in Sarasota, Florida. Dr. Fezza has developed advanced laser techniques with superior aesthetic outcomes which he taught to Dr. Yeilding, resulting in her substantial book of outcomes. She has conducted advanced clinical research on BOTOX® alternatives and is an Allergan-certified provider of BOTOX® and Juvéderm injectables.
Dr. Yeilding is an author and lecturer on cosmetic facial surgery and has published advanced research in several other ophthalmic laser surgery applications. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the Florida Medical Society, and the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery. Dr. Yeilding has unique, state-of-the-art laser surgical training with an emphasis on the eyes and face. Her passion and belief is for “getting the eyes right” as the key to providing a natural and youthful face.
Dr. Yeilding is an avid, outdoor athletic activity enthusiast and enjoys jogging, tennis, bicycling, water skiing, kayaking, and stand-up paddle boarding. Most of all, she loves to spend time with her children Rudy and Scarlett, and husband Randy, an ophthalmic laser entrepreneur she met while working on a research project together.
